A MUCH-LOVED premium YouTube perk is finally free for users in the UK after years of waiting.
The feature has long been available for nothing in the US while other countries had to pay for the privilege.

But that’s all changing now – though there are some conditions.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) is a hugely popular option on mobile, allowing you to have running in a small window in the corner of your screen while you continue to do other tasks.
For those who don’t know already, it’s usable by swiping up on a video that’s playing, which triggers it to automatically continue in a mini floating player you can move anywhere on your screen.
Until now, in the UK you had to pay for YouTube’s subscription to access the perk.
This has long been a source of confusion for users given that the US received it for free.
Finally, YouTube owner is aligning the rest of the world with the US, granting free Picture-in-Picture for all.
But there are some caveats.
The feature won’t be available freely for absolutely everything on the platform.
And notably, music is exempt.
