The National Assembly on Thursday passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I move that Mr. President returns as the APC candidate unopposed and, secondly, as the president for a second term come 2027. I so move.”;;
On his part, Abbas seconded Akpabio’s motion on behalf of all state legislatures.
“I stand on behalf of the entire 109 senators, 360 members of the House, and all the 36 speakers and their members to second this very important motion moved by the Senate President,”;; he said.
Earlier, the Progressive Governors Forum had also endorsed Tinubu for a second term.
