The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has responded to the defection of Hon. Marahazu Salisu Faru, who represents the Maradun Constituency in the State House of Assembly, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Halliru Andi, the party expressed that it was not surprised by Faru’s choice but cautioned that “those who prioritize personal gain over the collective will of the people often find themselves on the wrong side of history.”

The PDP held the APC accountable for “the hunger, insecurity, and corruption that are plaguing Zamfara and the entire nation,” emphasizing that the citizens still recall the “pain and neglect” they endured under the APC administration.

The party commended Governor Dauda Lawal for “restoring hope, rebuilding institutions, and safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of the populace,” describing the ongoing reforms as evidence that “the PDP is the party of progress and compassion.”

“We are confident that Hon. Faru will soon regret his decision, as the people of Zamfara have already resolved to stand firmly with the PDP,” the statement concluded.

The party encouraged its members to remain resilient and united, asserting that “no defection can undermine our foundation or hinder the will of the people.”
