The Yobe State Government has urged residents to remain calm following the announcement of the temporary closure of all boarding secondary schools in the state, a precautionary measure taken due to emerging security concerns.

The Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Buni, General Dahiru Abdulsalam (retd), made this appeal in a statement released on Sunday in Damaturu.

He reassured parents and the community that there is no reason for alarm, emphasizing that the schools will reopen once the security situation improves.

“The administration of His Excellency, Dr. Mai Mala Buni, is fully dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our children. Preventive measures are preferable to reactive responses,” he stated.

Abdulsalam further noted that the state government is collaborating closely with security agencies, community vigilantes, and local stakeholders to enhance protection around schools and neighborhoods.

He encouraged citizens to rely only on verified information and to refrain from spreading rumors that could increase tension.

The security adviser expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation and assured that ongoing efforts will persist to maintain peace and stability throughout Yobe State.
