The wasp was spotted flying around as Filipino darts player Ilagan retreated from a throw during the second game of the opening set.

Ilagan did his best to evade the insect, darting from one side of the stage to the other.

His animated reaction resonated with Sky Sports Darts commentator Mardle, who had a moment reminiscent of Gary Neville as he shouted in a high-pitched voice.

The fan favorite was heard laughing afterward, remarking, “It’s a wasp, man.”

Mardle’s co-commentator humorously suggested he thought there was a cougar in the booth, to which Mardle responded, “It’s not a tiger, Lourence, come on.”

When asked, “What were those noises, Wayne?” Mardle insisted he was mimicking Ilagan’s sounds.
