President Bola Tinubu has instructed security agencies to collaborate with state governors to prevent future kidnappings of Nigerians.

Tinubu stated that students and children must no longer be allowed to fall prey to terrorism.

He issued this directive while praising security agencies for successfully securing the release of 100 students from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State.

In a statement from his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the president urged security personnel to hasten the release of the remaining 115 students and teachers who are still held captive.

Tinubu reassured parents that both the federal and Niger State governments are working together to reunite all abducted students with their families.

He highlighted the importance of security forces in rescuing all kidnapped Nigerians and ensuring the safety of educational institutions.

“I have been informed about the safe return of 100 students from the Catholic School in Niger State. I celebrate with Governor Umar Bago and commend our security agencies for their diligent efforts in ensuring the safe return of the students to their families following the unfortunate incident on November 21.

“My instruction to our security forces remains that all students and other abducted Nigerians throughout the country must be rescued and brought home safely. We must account for all the victims.

“The Federal Government will continue to collaborate with Niger State and other states to secure our schools and create a safer and more conducive learning environment for our youth.

“From this point forward, our security agencies, in partnership with the governors, must work to prevent future kidnappings,” Tinubu stated.
