Fabian was reported missing when he failed to return home in October last year – and the boy’s dad insists Gina is innocent.

Cops launched a huge search operation for the eight-year-old, before his , at the edge of a pond 10 miles away from his home.

His body had been set on fire in an attempt to hide the evidence, claimed.

The corpse was found by Gina H, who had broken up with Fabian’s dad, Matthias R, 35, the day before the grim discovery.

The tractor-loving boy was likely killed the same day he vanished, police said.

Fabian’s mum, Dorina L, said that she had left the little boy alone in the house that morning because he was feeling ill, telling him to stay at home while she went to work.

But investigators think Gina H, who had a close relationship with the boy, later came and picked him up with her car.

Gina H is appearing at the Rostock Regional Court accused of murdering her ex’s son, then trying to destroy evidence by setting his body on fire.

On the evening of October 10, 2025, when little Fabian was first reported missing, Gina H asked the boy’s dad in text messages whether anything had happened at home, the court heard.

The 30-year-old Googled “police” and “police “, and whether wild boars eat dead people the day after her ex-partner’s son disappeared, the court was told.

She allegedly searched “do wild boars eat people” and “do wild boars eat dead people” at 8:01am.

Fabian’s dad Matthias R, and Gina H, broke up before the eight-year-old was reported missing, but got back together eight weeks later.

Matthias is convinced of his partner’s innocence and visits the defendant regularly in pre-trial detention.

Gina held her head in her hands as she heard the evidence against her.

She denies all charges, and in one text message wrote: “I can’t even slaughter a chicken, so why would I kill a child?

“It was a damn accident that I found him.”

In a terrifying voice message played to the court, after Gina was asked about what had happened to Fabian, she could be heard saying: “Well, you’ll never really know, will you?

“Because bodies found in water don’t leave any traces.

“Neither do bodies from fires; they won’t leave many DNA traces either, unfortunately.”

Text messages from after Fabian’s disappearance between Gina and Matthias show that the dad didn’t specify what the child’s sickness was when he told her the eight-year-old was ill.

Yet forty minutes later, Gina H texted an acquaintance saying that Fabian had stayed home because he had a stomach ache.

Later on, Gina H asked to write a eulogy for little Fabian and shared it with the boy’s father.

When he praised her for the text, she replied “that he knew one of her great talents was writing”.

The court also heard about Matthias and Gina’s troubled relationship.

In one text message read in court, Gina said to the boy’s dad: “I am dependent on you.”

She also repeatedly accused him of being responsible for her financial issues.

Voice messages exchanged by the pair in 2024 prompted laughter and murmurs in the courtroom, Bild reported.

Gina H can be heard asking Fabian’s dad: “Did you drive around today and weren’t at work all day?”

Matthias R said: “I just popped into Aldi for a drink, otherwise, not that I know of.”

Gina H shot back: “And why didn’t you tell me that?”

Gina H. was also questioned by judges about her previous searches researching “sex for “.

She also allegedly took some nudes of herself and asked an unknown man how to sell them on , but she never actually followed through, the court heard.

The trial continues.
