Two retirees have been charged with the murder of a 100-year-old woman, over three years after her passing.
A murder investigation was initiated following the death of centenarian Pamela Mogford in Bledlow Ridge, Buckinghamshire, in February 2022.
In June 2023, Thames Valley Police announced they were looking into her death amid suspicions that it may have been a homicide.
Jeremy Mogford, 78, and Sarah Pickering, 71, have both been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Thames Valley Police stated: “Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, a man and a woman have today (23/10) been charged in relation to a murder investigation in Buckinghamshire.
“Jeremy Mogford, aged 78, of St Giles, Oxford, and Sarah Pickering, aged 71, of Back Lane, Guildford, Surrey, have each been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
“These charges pertain to the death of the 100-year-old woman, Pamela Mogford, on 15 February 2022 in Bledlow Ridge, Buckinghamshire.
“Now that charges have been filed, the police will not be able to provide further details as the proceedings are currently active.
“Pickering and Mogford appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court and Oxford Crown Court today (23/10) via video link and were released on court bail.
“They are scheduled to appear at Oxford Crown Court on 13 March 2026.”
