A woman who is said to have mental health issues on Monday, escaped death from a mob action after a drunk accused her of stealing his manhood.
The incident which occurred in Jos, Plateau State, according to eyewitnesses, happened when the heavily drunk man raised an alarm that the woman touched him and his manhood suddenly disappeared.
“The woman was not even given any opportunity to explain herself as the mob beat her with sticks, woods and any object they could lay their hands on. They were even looking for tyres to set her ablaze when some people who know the woman intervened.
‘It turned out that the woman is a petty trader in another part of Jos and has some mental health challenges. The people who knew her had to prevail on the mob and insisted on checking the accuser’s manhood to ascertain that he was saying the truth.
“And lo and behold, upon checking, his manhood was intact. The family of the drunk quietly apologized to the woman and offered to take her for treatment.
“You can imagine what if the poor woman was killed over a false accusation coming from a known drunk?”heexplained.
