A BODY has tragically been found in the search for a missing woman who got into difficulty in a reservoir.

Emergency services were called to Strinesdale Reservoir, in Greater Manchester, at around 4pm yesterday.

A woman was reported getting into difficulty in the water and a major search was launched, reported the MEN .

Waterworks Road was cordoned off and specialist divers scoured the area.

A water incident unit was also recruited from the fire service to assist.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed a body was sadly recovered at around 6.25pm yesterday.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Emergency services responded to an incident at Strinesdale Reservoir at around 4:50pm yesterday (Sunday 17 August 2025) after reports of a woman getting into difficulty in the water.

“Sadly, the body of a woman was recovered.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.”
