Wimbledon match suspended twice on Centre Court due to medical emergency before Taylor Fritz left bleeding from injury

A WIMBLEDON match on Centre Court was halted TWICE in the same game for a medical emergency in the crowd and a bloody injury.

American No1 Taylor Fritz took on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the opening match on the main show court on Friday.

But early in the second set, play was suspended for four-and-a-half minutes with Fritz serving at 2-1 up.

It is understood a fan was taken ill.

Water was taken to the person with an umbrella put up to protect them from the sun.

But in the very same game, the match was suspended again because Fritz re-opened a cut on his elbow when he produced a diving volley.

The Californian made the wound in his previous match and he had to have a medical time-out when break point down to get the blood cleared up.
