WIMBLEDON has announced a shock new tennis venue across the Atlantic Ocean.
The prestigious tournament is scheduled to start on June 29 and run until the final on July 12.

have announced that there will be a new pop-up court for the tournament in .
The will be built in Central Park’s Wollman Rink in the centre of Manhattan.
It will be in place for three days between June 26 and 29 and host its own action.
The Wimbledon Court Invitational will host tennis icons on the court for a friendly doubles match.
The shock decision was revealed on social media with a short statement.
It read: “The Wimbledon Court in Central Park, New York.
“American tennis fans will have a unique opportunity to share in the magic of The Championships as Wimbledon is bringing grass court tennis Stateside.”
Along with the doubles match the venue will also host other tennis-themed activities for visitors.

Fans will also have the chance to play on the grass court themselves and enjoy the traditional strawberries and cream.
On June 29, New Yorkers will be able to watch the opening of the tournament on installed giant screens.
The ballot for playing sessions will close at 11.59pm on June 10.
All England Lawn Tennis Club marketing and commercial director Usama Al-Qassab said: “We are delighted to bring Wimbledon to the US for a fifth successive year, giving New York’s devoted tennis fans a flavour of Wimbledon.”
