However, the team has faced significant challenges since the beginning of the millennium, with their last championship win occurring in 1997.

With Alex Albon behind the wheel and under the guidance of team principal James Vowles, the team seems to have made a turnaround, currently competing as the best of the rest with four races remaining in the season.

In anticipation of the significant regulatory changes in 2026, Williams has also announced updates to their team name and logo.

Starting next year, Williams will transition from “Atlassian Williams Racing” to “Atlassian Williams F1”.

A statement indicated that this change reflects their “sole purpose to race and win in the highest levels of motorsport.”

The team is also refreshing their logo with a 21st-century reimagining inspired by the original “Forward W” introduced in their inaugural season of 1977 by the legendary Frank Williams.

This logo has appeared on all of the team’s nine Constructors’ World Championship-winning cars, with its last use being in 1999 before they partnered with .

In a statement, Vowles expressed: “I am proud that starting next year we will be known as Atlassian Williams F1 Team and will carry a logo on our car inspired by our founder, Sir Frank Williams, and closely connected to our decades of success.”

“As a team, we are inspired by our history but excited about our future, and we are committed to writing a new championship-winning chapter in Williams’ legacy.”

“This evolved team identity reflects who we are, where we are headed, and reintroduces our title-winning legacy to a growing F1 audience that may not have been following the sport during our last period of dominance.”

Williams achieved their first podium since 2021 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix earlier this season, while also securing their first sprint podium at the United States Grand Prix.

F1 returns this weekend at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
