The ruling is due to their guidance on colour blindness.
The most popular form of the condition is red-green blindness, which leads to sufferers struggling to distinguish between the two colours.
Inside the retina, cells named cones detect light and most people have three types: Red (long-wave), Green (medium-wave), and Blue (short-wave).
But those with red-green colour blindness have the red or green cone missing or it does not work effectively and therefore confuses the colours.
The condition impacts about one in 12 men and one in 200 women, according to NHS statistics.
Following campaigns, chiefs changed the rules a year ago to ban the two colours from being both team’s primary colour when on the pitch together.
When beat Wales in Cardiff last year 28-18, the Irish also wore white.
