Former senator representing Kebbi South, Bala Na’Allah, has explained why he has remained a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, despite what he described as an inexplicable political situation in Kebbi State.

Na’Allah spoke while discussing his political journey and relationship with the party in an interview with Arise TV.

He said his continued membership of the APC was consistent with his political history and long-standing involvement in the democratic process.

“When I’m sure if you ask who Na’Allah is in the political sphere of Kebbi, you will not be surprised that I remain in the APC despite what I can best describe as something that no one can explain about the politics down there,” he said.

The former lawmaker recalled his role in bringing the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, to Kebbi at a time when elective positions were being distributed among political stakeholders in the state.

He said that despite his contribution to establishing the party in Kebbi, he did not benefit from the allocation of elective positions.

“I specifically was responsible for getting the political party called the DPP at that time to Kebbi, and surprisingly, all the posts and elective offices were shared in Kebbi, and not even a councillorship was given to me. I never defected,” he stated.

Na’Allah said the experience did not make him abandon the party or defect to another political platform.

He maintained that his political commitment was not determined solely by access to elective positions or appointments.

His comments come amid discussions over political loyalty, party membership and the 2027 general elections.
