A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, has disclosed that the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari’s name would be written in gold in Nigeria’s history.
George said Buhari established modern electoral process in Nigeria during his tenure as president.
In an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, George, however, lamented that the process messed up during the 2023 elections.
He said: “There are one or two areas that I would like to mention about my experiences with Buhari.
“He (Buhari) established and bought modern equipment for our electoral process, no matter how you write the history of this country, his name will remain golden in that line.
“But what did we do with it again, we messed it up. Till the D-day, the 8th hour it had a glitch. I never heard of any system that was robust having a glitch, I’m a computer engineer and worked onboard a ship.
“It’s like you are at war onboard a ship and a missile is fired at your ship and your early warning signal picks it up in micro seconds.
“The computer would have computed the time of flight it will reach you and all calculations will be ready in micro seconds, only for the captain to decide what he wants to do by pressing the button fire, otherwise you are a dead meat.
“And if you now say at that particular time, your computer had a glitch, you are dead.
“So how can it be on the D-day, the 8th hour. The thing that we got out of it was that the company that sold it said there was no glitch, we were watching you online, you switched off the system.
“So Nigerians where are we going and what are we doing to ourselves?
‘In memory of Oga, that would have helped the electoral process and removed the shenanigans we have been going through for years. That we will not forget.”;
