WHITE Lotus has gripped viewers with its biting satire and uncomfortable social dynamics.

Just this week, season four of the drama-ridden show was sent into chaos as Helena Bonham-Carter in the middle of filming.
The two-time Oscar nominated actress is said to have exited the production of Mike White’s hit murder mystery series due to a dispute over her character – which will now be recast.
After a few scenes with Helena were shot, the decision was made to rework the role as her portrayal of the character didn’t align with Mike’s original vision, according to Deadline .

FILMING ‘FEUD’

The pair starred as an age-gap, opposites-attract couple, with their chemistry sparking rumours that their bond extended far beyond the script.
This was despite Walton being married to filmmaker Nadia Conners, who denied any affair rumours to Hello Magazine, saying: “It’s odd to see it but it’s an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters. I take it as a sign that he’s quite popular.”
Intrigue intensified when eagle-eyed fans spotted Walton and Aimee no longer followed each other on Instagram, leading some to speculate a fallout had occurred.
This is despite him posting a 12-slide photo dump nearly exclusively of Aimee with the caption: “Thank you Aimee Lou for being my partner… a journey I will never forget.”(!) #
The mystery deepened when some theorised that Walton had blocked Aimee, as her comments no longer showed up under his posts, but his were still visible on her posts.

Denying any rift, Walton told Variety : “There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me.
“This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece.
“But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”
During a June 2025 interview, Walton confirmed he had started following her again.
‘LORD OF THE FLIES’ SET

Actor didn’t hold back when describing the season three filming experience.
He compared the seven-month shoot in Thailand – where he played the character of financier Timothy Ratliff – to a cross between “summer camp and Lord of the Flies.”
Despite not naming anyone specifically, he insinuated there had been some tension between his cast mates, saying to Vulture: “It wasn’t a holiday. Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost…
“They say in the show, ‘What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand,’ but there’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.”
The Mail claimed: “Jason Isaacs and co-star Parker Posie were reportedly at each other’s throats while filming in Thailand.
“A deathly silence fell between them as soon as the cameras stopped rolling. All involved are keeping shtum”.
A source said: “There was little love lost.”
COMPOSER FALL OUT

Throughout the three seasons of the blockbuster show, Cristóbal Tapia de Veer’s distinctive theme tune has been as integral to the action as the eyebrow-raising storylines.
He won three Emmys for , including outstanding theme for season one.
Meanwhile, the second season’s version, Renaissance, became an unlikely club anthem thanks to a Tiësto remix.
However, Cristóbal revealed in April 2025 that he was quitting the show and would not be doing the upcoming fourth season following creative differences with showrunner Mike.
“We already had our last fight for ever, I think,” he said. “He was just saying no to anything.”

Mike hit back saying to TV host Howard Stern: “I don’t think he respected me. He wants people to know that he’s edgy and dark and I’m, I don’t know, like I watch reality TV.
“We never really even fought. He says we feuded. I don’t think I ever had a fight with him – except for maybe some emails.
“It was basically me giving him notes. I don’t think he liked to go through the process of getting notes from me, or wanting revisions, because he didn’t respect me.
“I knew he wasn’t a team player and that he wanted to do it his way. I was thrown that he would go to the New York Times to s*** on me and the show three days before the finale. It was kind of a b**** move.”
CASTING SCANDAL

One of the biggest pre-production scandals involved Serbian actor Miloš Biković.
Shortly after he was cast for Season 3, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs publicly called out HBO, accusing Biković of supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine and “supporting genocide.”
A HBO spokesperson told AFP: “We have decided to part ways with Milos Biković and the role will be recast”.
Miloš said on X that he does not support any wars, and cited his own experience growing up during the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia.
He said: “I grew up in a war-torn country. At the age of 11, I endured days and nights in shelters while my homeland and my hometown were bombed. I could never wish such a devastation on anyone.”

The disturbing scenes took place on a luxury yacht, which is owned by Chloe’s boyfriend Greg Hunt.
Following the shock sexual encounter, it was confirmed to viewers that both brothers had blacked out during the night.
One viewer said after watching the shock kiss: “This entire season is about deviancy. It’s actually disgusting.”

THE new series of The White Lotus has announced that it will be filming at a hotel in the ‘pearl of the Mediterranean’, moving away from its previous destination in Thailand.

The hotel is part of the five-star Airelles Collection and according to the hotel’s website, is “surrounded by umbrella pines, cypress trees and jasmine”.
The hotel was a wedding gift to officer Henry Brisson de la Massardiere and his wife and dates back to the 19th century.
At the hotel, guests can expect to find a large semi-circle swimming pool with views of Pampelonne Bay, 86 rooms and suites, furniture and marble floors.
There are nine and bars as well as a 1000sqm spa with an indoor pool, nine treatment rooms, a hammam and a sauna.
Staying at the luxury spot doesn’t come cheap, with a one night stay in April costing £995.96.
