Former presidential candidate of the Accord Party, Prof. Christopher Imumolen, stated that the party has been experiencing internal conflicts even prior to Governor Ademola Adeleke's defection to it.
Prof. Imumolen made this revelation on Monday during an interview on ‘The Morning Brief’, a program on Channels Television, as reported by DAILY POST.
He was addressing the internal political disputes facing the party.
“I have been addressing this issue for some time. I took legal action, which signifies my commitment to this struggle. We have encountered problems at the party Secretariat where we have had to confront our challenges directly.
“What I mean is that we often choose to remain silent because, within the party, we sometimes prefer that the public remains unaware of our internal issues.
“These conflicts have been ongoing. If you review various publications, you will find that I have participated in numerous interviews discussing this matter.
“So, regardless of whether Adeleke joined us or not, we are in control of the party, and we are taking the necessary steps today to preserve the integrity of the party. Our goal is to ensure that no matter what occurs, the party remains united,” he stated.
