IT’S one of the biggest and most important days of your life – so it’s no wonder couples often pay a professional photographer to capture their nuptials.

But now one bride has been left fuming, as her wedding snaps are ”absolutely ruined” thanks to the officiant’s bizarre themed dress and on show.

The furious bride explained that the pair decided not to invite anyone, as they live in a small town and the local municipal office does civil marriages.

Rather than organising a lavish wedding bash, the duo tied the knot in a more intimate setting at home.

”We got married on our property, just us two, our six-month-old and we had the required two witnesses, one of which was the photographer,” the woman shared the incident on Reddit.

As there were no guests, the were keen to get ”nice photos” to share with everyone they hadn’t invited.

But unfortunately for the couple, the wholesome snaps were ”ruined” by one of the attendees – the officiant.

The Redditor, who posts under the username @ sendingsun , was ”floored by the outfit she chose”.

”A blue ocean themed dress with starfish all over it (we are getting married basically in a forest) and to top it off she’s wearing a hot pink bra with the straps completely visible,” the horrified bride wrote in the post .

”So yeah all our ceremony photos were absolutely ruined because she sticks out like a sore thumb.

”I was under the impression that officiants dressed neutral like pants and a button up or something but this woman looked like our wedding was a stop on her way to the beach.”

‘This is the stuff I wear when I’m doing garden work’

The post, uploaded in the ‘Weddingshaming’ subreddit, has taken the platform by storm, with thousands flocking to comments in sheer horror.

One social media user said: ”This is the outfit the neighbours see when my mother comes flying out the house yelling at raccoons in the garden.”

Someone else joked: ”So you WEREN’T going for a SpongeBob theme?”

A third wrote: ”I’m a wedding officiant and I always ask my couples if there’s anything specific they want me to wear or not wear, otherwise I’ll be in a conservative-ish black dress.
