The teaser trailer launches the high-stakes mind games with a line from Oh Gwan Seok (Ryu Seung Ryong), who says, “If it’s true, we all hit the jackpot. If it’s just a rumor, we all miss out.”; The story follows a group of characters-a tomb raider, appraiser, police officer, broker, and driver-each with different backgrounds and motives, who become entangled in the pursuit of one shared goal: a sunken treasure ship.
From the thick dialect of Professor Kim (Kim Eui Sung), who declares, “So many scumbags together in one place,”; to the bold proclamation from Yang Jeong Sook (Im Soo Jung), who says, “Whatever you manage to salvage, I’ll buy it all,”; the dialogue breathes life into the characters and adds energy to the story. With characters drawn from across South Korea-including Seoul, Busan, and Mokpo-the variety of regional dialects adds texture and authenticity. Combined with the retro production design set in the 1970s, the series grounds itself in a vivid and immersive setting.
