After spending his first full day in camp, Jack reflected on the recent loss of his father, Ozzy: “It was definitely a shock; we knew he had been ill for a while, but we didn’t expect it to happen so quickly…”
He added: “It was the ultimate mic drop; he performed a massive concert and then said, ‘Alright, I’m done.’”
Jack became emotional as Lisa comforted him, reminiscing about his father's legendary status and the impact he made.
Ozzy succumbed to a heart attack following a prolonged struggle with illness.
When asked what Ozzy would think of him participating in the show, Jack said: “He would be incredibly supportive of this.”
Later, in the Bush Telegraph, Jack shared: “I’m still processing everything; it’s been nearly four months, so it’s still quite raw.”
Earlier, Jack admitted to feeling “melancholy” and “homesick” during a group discussion among the campmates, which they referred to as a therapy session.
Before departing for Australia, Jack briefly mentioned his loss, stating it would be challenging to leave his family “in the wake of my father’s passing.”
Jack noted that he talked to his mother about participating in the show, adding: “My family is very, very supportive of me doing this.”
When asked if he would engage in the emotional conversations that often occur around the campfire, Jack replied: “Yes, I think it’s a natural part of bonding with others. I believe this show would fall under the category of ‘trauma bonding.’”
