WAFCON 2024: ‘Games we want to play’ – Ajibade fires warning to South Africa

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, says the team is ready for battle against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.

The nine-time champions have exhibited the two sides of their game at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Justine Madugu’s side have scored the highest number of goals in the competition (nine) and are the only team yet to concede a goal.

After wobbling through the group stage, the Super Falcons proved their class, thrashing the highly-rated Copper Queens of Zambia 5-0 in the quarter-final.

They will now rekindle rivalry with holders Banyana Banyana in what is expected to be a thrilling contest.

Ajibade said the Super Falcons live for moments like this.

“These are the kind of games we want to play. Getting to the semifinal shows the effort the team put into every game. We try to improve ourselves in each match,” she told CAFonline.

The game, slated for the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca, will start at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
