The French Bulldog made it onto the list

In the clip, he said: The five dog breeds I would never own as a vet and why.”

The first on his list was the French Bulldog, even though he did find them adorable.

He said they often come with non-stop health issues, from breathing problems to skin infections to spinal issues.

“It’s heartbreaking. As a vet, I just wouldn’t want to go through that,” he said.

Next up was Dachshunds, who were again super loveable but had too many health issues, especially when it comes to their spine.

“I’ve seen too many end up in pain or needing expensive surgery after something as simple as jumping off a couch,” he added.

The vet also said he would never own a Belgian Malinois.

While he noted they were very intelligent and driven, making them great work dogs , they can be hard to manage.

“Unless you’re training them constantly and giving them proper structure, they become destructive and reactive fast,” Amir explained.

“They’re not family pets for most people, and I personally wouldn’t take one on.”

Chihuahuas were not a dog Amir wanted to give his energy to

Amir also couldn’t cope with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel despite their sweet temperament as they almost always got heart disease .

Last but not least, the vet said Chihuahuas were a dog he didn’t have the energy for.

He said the breed was ‘tiny but chaotic.’

“Some are sweet, but a lot of them are super reactive, anxious, and quick to bite,” he explained.

“It’s like living with a landmine in a 2kg body. I’ve been bitten more times by Chihuahuas than by big dogs — and I’m not trying to live with that energy.”

The clip posted to his TikTok account @ amirthevet went viral with over 822k views and many dog owners took to the comments to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: “I have a dachshund mix. Love him to death but he is tough at times.”
