The Allianz Arena has been officially designated as the venue for the 2028 Champions League final.
This decision sets up a competition to host the 2029 final between Wembley Stadium in London and the renovated Camp Nou in Barcelona.
On Friday, UEFA also announced that the prestigious event may not take place in New York until at least 2030.
“The expressions of interest are not binding, and the final proposals must be submitted along with the bid dossiers by June 10,” an official statement stated.
Bayern Munich’s home stadium hosted last season's final, while Wembley held the previous final in 2024.
The last occasion Barcelona hosted the final was in 1999, when Manchester United scored two goals in stoppage time to defeat Bayern 2–1.
This season's Champions League final will take place at the Puskás Arena in Budapest.
