UTME 2025 errors: JAMB Registrar breaks down in tears, begs candidates for forgiveness (VIDEO)

Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, broke down in tears as he apologized for the errors in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.

“I apologize for the trauma caused to the candidates,”;; Oloyede said tearfully, while acknowledging the distress that the discrepancies in the examination results had caused.

DAILY POST reported that earlier in the briefing, Oloyede had confessed that “one or two errors”;; had occurred during the examination, which led to widespread confusion and dissatisfaction among candidates.

This admission follows numerous complaints about inconsistencies in the results, particularly regarding discrepancies in candidates’ scores.

The board has faced severe backlash after reports revealed that approximately 379,997 candidates from the Southeast and Lagos State were affected by the errors.

JAMB has since rescheduled the examination for the candidates in an attempt to rectify the situation.
