Video recently surfaced of the horror crash at an undisclosed Chinese track, just days after the supercar became the first to hit 310mph during a test in the UAE.

Chunks of debris flew across the road as the Yangwang U9 Xtreme spun uncontrollably.

Fuel spilled onto the roadway as crews rushed to the stricken driver.

Despite the car’s body taking severe damage, the driver remained unharmed and, according to reports, he even managed to get out of the car on his own.

BYD hasn’t said when the incident occurred or what caused its supercar to lose control.

Photos from after the crash show the extent of the damage to both the front and rear bodywork.

The force of the impact tore the rear axle and all four wheels completely off the car, while the entire bonnet was obliterated.

The Yangwang U9 Xtreme is the most extreme version of BYD’s U9 electric supercar.

In September 2025, it reached 308.3 mph, officially making it the world’s fastest car.

BYD is a major Chinese multinational high-tech car manufacturing company headquartered in Shenzhen, China.

Their cars have witnessed significant growth in Britain, reporting a 113 per cent sales increase in the first half of 2026 and currently selling through 144 car dealers.

In June, the brand said it wanted to become the world’s biggest automaker in the next five years, already overtaking Tesla last year.

The dramatic crash comes following another hypercar smash, this time in Spain.

In September a during a test drive.

The Kia suddenly stops at a red light in front of planned roadworks, forcing the Bugatti driver to also slam on the brakes.

The £3.3million motor’s stopping speed and reaction times are among the best in the world – even on a winding mountain road.

Unfortunately, the Polo had no such luck as it couldn’t come to a screeching halt quick enough.

The hatchback’s tyres can be heard squealing before the car crashes into the sculpted rear of the Bugatti.

The heavy impact appeared to have left the Tourbillon with mostly cosmetic damage, but with such a supercar even the slightest repair job could trigger a staggering bill.
