Urgent hunt after man ‘approached group of children, 10 & 11, before chasing boy’ in broad daylight as cops release CCTV

AN urgent hunt has been launched for a suspect after children were allegedly approached by a man who touched one inappropriately before chasing him.

Cops have released a CCTV image of a man who they wish to speak to following reports of the incident in Finchampstead, Berkshire, on Sunday (June 1).

At around 3.45pm at a sports pavilion by Finchampstead Baptist Church Centre on Gorse Ride North, a man was seen approaching children aged between 10 and 11, and appeared to be taking photos of them, according to Thames Valley Police.

He also touched one of the children inappropriately over his clothing before chasing him a short distance, it is claimed.

Detective Sergeant Pauline Cameron, said: “I appreciate that local residents will be concerned to hear of this report, and would like to reassure you that we are taking this incident seriously and our enquiries are ongoing.

“We will be carrying out additional patrols in the area and have been working alongside local schools to make them aware of the incident and provide any necessary support.

“As part of our investigation, I am appealing to anybody who recognises the person in this image to please come forward as they may have vital information to assist us with our investigation.

“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or has information that may assist us to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information should call 101 or make an online report, via our website, quoting crime reference number 43250269457.
