Residents of Bridlington, on the East Yorkshire coastline, are set to celebrate tomorrow in a packed programme of festive entertainment.
Known as “Bridmas Day”, the jam-packed day of activities is organised by East Riding of Yorkshire council to promote the town as an all-year-round destination.
A cabinet member for the council, Nick Coultish, said Bridmas Day has become “one of the highlights of events calendar”.
Throughout the day, families will be able to buy goodies at the Christmas Market, enjoy their favourite festive music, and watch a showing of The Grinch.
Children can even meet Santa at his summertime grotto on Bridlington South Beach, where a tree will be put up to mark the occasion.
Local businesses are expected to take part in the celebrations by dressing up their stores in Christmas decorations.
For Bridlington, the festivities mark the beginning of its seasonal offers launch, where locals can snap up prizes and exclusive offers for a number different activities.
These include a family day pass to the historic country house Sewerby Hall and Gardens, tickets on the Santa Express, and two tickets to see a tribute act at Bridlington Spa on Friday night.

Despite the positivity from East Riding of council, who have counted down the days with 12 Days of Christmas posts, others are more sceptical.
One local said: “Come on guys. Let’s enjoy our lovely summer without being reminded of Christmas just yet.”
Bridmas Day will be celebrated in Bridlington Spa from 10am to 4pm tomorrow, with a number of free events on offer.
