Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer and former Manchester City defender, Micah Richards have named six new signings Manchester United need to make following their UEFA Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
Man United’s Europa League season ended on a sad note on Wednesday night after they were beaten 1-0 by Spurs in Bilbao.
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast after the match, Shearer said the Red Devils need to sign a goalkeeper, centre half, midfielder and striker.
“Manchester United need to spend big in 4 positions,”;; Shearer said.
“They need a new goalkeeper, a new centre half, they definitely need some new midfielders and obviously a top striker so there is the four important positions.”;;
On his part, Richards agreed with Shearer and said Ruben Amorim’s men should also sign another two new wing-backs.
“I think Manchester United need two new wing-backs as well,”;; Richards added.
“The big question for me is will players want to go [to Manchester United] and play in that [Ruben Amorim’s] system?”;;
The latest defeat means Man United will finish this season trophy less and will not play in European competitions next season.
