Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has claimed that Barcelona ran out of ideas as they were dumped out of the Champions League by Inter Milan.
The two teams came into Tuesday’s semi-final second leg having played a sensational 3-3 draw in Spain.
Inter raced into a two-goal lead thanks to Lautaro Martinez and a Hakan Calhanoglu penalty.
Barca then scored three times through Eric Garcia, Dani Olmo and Raphinha to take the lead.
With the LaLiga side looking to win it, Francesco Acerbi levelled the tie, before Davide Fratessi calmly slotted home the winner in extra time.
Rooney, speaking on Amazon Prime at full time, said: “Once Inter got the equaliser it looked like they were the team that were going to push.
“Barcelona ran out of ideas at the end.
“I’m not really quick to praise goalkeepers, but some of those saves Yann Sommer made were excellent.”;
