Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, has hailed goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, insisting that the Senegalese is a top professional, honest and very supportive.
Mendy is expected to start his first game since early September when Chelsea hosts Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The shot-stopper played 45 minutes of Chelseaâs Premier League 4-1 defeat against Brighton last weekend.
The 30-year-old is now set to start his first game under Potter since the Englishman was brought in to replace the sacked Thomas Tuchel in early September.
Asked about Mendy at his pre-match news conference on Tuesday, Potter said: âHeâs been great, a top professional, very supportive. Iâve had some good chats with him.
âHe was injured when we first arrived, so Kepa played, and Kepa did well. Heâs honest and professional enough to know sometimes you have to be patient and work hard and support the team, which is what he did. We canât ask anymore.
âHeâs made sure heâs ready, heâs trained well, and heâs kept his standards high. Now he has an opportunity. Itâs unfortunate for Kepa itâs come around like that, but thatâs football.â
