UCL: Drogba rules out two teams from winning trophy

Published on May 03, 2025 at 07:38 PM

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has expressed his hope that neither Arsenal nor Paris Saint-Germain will win the UEFA Champions League this season.

PSG secured a 1–0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their semi-final clash at the Emirates Stadium last week.

Meanwhile, Barcelona played out a thrilling 3–3 draw with Inter Milan at Camp Nou.

When asked who he would prefer to see reach the Champions League final between Arsenal and PSG, Drogba told RMC Sport: “Do you really want to know the answer? Neither team. But I think it is good for French football to have a team that has come this far. Good luck to them.”;

The Ivorian went on to reveal that his preferred winners of this season’s competition would be either Barcelona or Inter Milan.

Drogba famously scored the decisive goal for Chelsea in their 2012 Champions League final triumph over Bayern Munich.
