TWO teenagers who lost their lives in a devastating crash when their vehicle collided with a tree have been identified and pictured.

South Yorkshire Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 2:40 AM on Saturday, December 13.

Summer Louise, 17, who was driving, and her passenger Trevor Wynn, 17, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

A second passenger, aged 18, was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

The police confirmed that the silver Corolla had veered off Todwick Road, situated between Dinnington and Todwick, before crashing into a tree.

Officers apprehended two individuals aged 18 and 19 years in connection with the incident.

One was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, while the other was detained on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Sergeant John Taylor from the Serious Collisions Unit stated: “This is a heart-wrenching incident in which two young lives have been lost, with another individual in critical condition. We are determined to seek answers for their families.”

“Our investigations are ongoing, and we are eager to speak with anyone who may have footage of the vehicle prior to the crash.”

“It is reported that a silver Toyota Corolla was traveling away from Dinnington towards Todwick when it left the road and struck a tree.”

“Unfortunately, the driver, a 17-year-old girl, and her passenger, a 17-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their families are being supported by officers, and our thoughts are with them. Another male remains in a life-threatening condition.”

“On the following day (14 December), officers arrested two men aged 18 and 19 years, one on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and the other on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.”

“They have since been interviewed and released on police bail as our investigation continues.”

“We are still appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.”
