
THE EastEnders theme tune is the “most iconic” in television, a poll found.
Known for its “doof, doof” drumbeat intro, the BBC stalwart’s music pipped rival soap Corrie to the No1 spot.

Themes to US shows Friends, The Simpsons and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air made the top five.
Also featured in the list were The Big Bang Theory , Family Guy — the favourite of Gen Z — and Strictly Come Dancing .
The most sought-after TV companions would be David Attenborough, Ant and Dec , and Olivia Colman , the poll for sweets firm M&M’S revealed.
Top TV watching bugbears include people asking too many questions, flicking channels and giving away spoilers.
Radio host Sam Thompson said: “TV nights are my favourite time to just hang out with mates, even if it takes us an hour to agree on what to watch!”
“I’m all about turning TV nights into a proper event with bean bags, onesies and volume up.”
Reality TV star Scarlett Moffatt , said: “TV nights at home are my love language, chaotic, full of theme-tune singalongs and subtitle debates.
“But hunkering down on the couch with Scott and Jude is what makes it so special.
“I love celebrating the little quirks that turn ordinary nights into unforgettable family moments, because watching together is always more fun.
“Even if Jude is the remote-control-king nowadays.”
