An International Affairs Analyst, Adoyi Omale, asserts that Nigeria is a sovereign nation, emphasizing that any attempt to invade or deploy military forces against the country would be considered an act of aggression.

Omale expressed this viewpoint on Tuesday during an interview on Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILY POST.

He remarked that while Nigeria maintains its sovereignty, this does not exempt the government from its duty to safeguard lives and uphold justice.

The International Affairs Analyst further highlighted that the ongoing violence across Nigeria should not be underestimated, urging the federal government to ensure justice for victims and take decisive action against those responsible for the current violence and insecurity.

“Nigeria is a sovereign nation, and any attempt to invade or launch a military attack against Nigeria would constitute an act of aggression,” he stated.

“However, this does not imply that the international community is incorrect in highlighting issues where they arise, particularly in cases involving serious allegations of genocide or terrorism,” he added.

According to him, terrorism and insecurity have emerged as global issues that must be addressed with urgency and sincerity, expressing concern that Nigeria’s security measures have failed to yield significant results, leaving citizens vulnerable to attacks.

“Terrorism is a worldwide phenomenon, and a terrorist in any part of the globe poses a threat to global peace. The United States has made it clear that it will not tolerate terrorists operating within Nigeria. Frankly, there are numerous killings occurring, and no one is holding this government accountable for them. This has been happening for quite some time,” he concluded.
