But labelled “very dishonourable” as the countries wrestled over the terms of an agreement to end the war.
The US President claimed Tehran had leaked details which contradicted what had been agreed in writing.
He reacted with fury after Iran’s state news agency claimed the deal included a 60-day discussion over its nuclear program.
It added that Iran had no intention of giving up its enriched uranium and also (£224billion) to cover war damage.

The agreement would also apparently leave Iran with greater power over Hormuz than before the war.
Mr Trump, who turns 80 tomorrow, earlier said both sides had agreed the wording of the deal and that Khamenei was on board with it.
They were reportedly working towards a signing ceremony in Geneva tomorrow.
But Mr Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform the terms leaked by Iran have: “NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing.
What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth. Very dishonourable people to deal with.
“With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith.
“They better get their act together, and FAST!”
