Troops of Sector 3, Operation Hadin Kai, have repelled an attempted infiltration by terrorists into Monguno town through the Charlie 15 axis in Borno State.

The attempted attack occurred around 2:55 a.m. on Sunday but was swiftly foiled by alert troops who engaged the insurgents in a firefight.

According to a post on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama via X, the terrorists were forced to flee after intense resistance from the military.

Military sources said blood stains were observed along the terrorists’ withdrawal route, suggesting that some of them may have sustained gunshot wounds.

Items recovered from the scene included seven rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a PKT machine gun belt, an empty AK-47 magazine, an RPG bomb, spaghetti, and a pair of slippers.

There were no casualties on the side of the troops, and there was no further contact with the terrorists as they retreated into the bush.
