Decker was at the center of a manhunt conducted by local and state police as well as the FBI after Paityn, 9; Evelyn, 8; and Olivia Decker, 5, were found dead at Rock Island Campground on June 2.

After months of scouring the rugged Washington wilderness, authorities admitted there was no evidence that Decker was dead or alive.

On Thursday night, cops announced in a statement, “While positive identification has not yet been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest the remains belong to Travis Decker.”

The scene is currently being processed by state police.

Decker allegedly kidnapped his daughters on May 30 during a custody visit before killing them, investigators said.

Their bodies were found about 75 to 100 yards away from Decker’s truck, which cops said had two on the tailgate.

The car, which Decker was living out of, was abandoned with personal items like blankets, food, car seats, and a wallet left on the center console.

The campsite showed signs of recent activity with a tent and a cooler set up in the area.

Decker’s cell phone activity revealed he was at the campground the day before the alleged killings, court records said.

The girls’ mom, Whitney Decker, reported them missing on Friday night after Decker hadn’t returned them from what was supposed to be a three-hour custody visit at 5 pm.

Whitney said she called Decker after he didn’t bring them home at the planned time, but it went straight to voicemail.

She told cops she was worried because Decker had never done anything like this before.

The mom noted that Decker was quieter than usual during their handoff on Friday and that he spoke about his financial problems.

In an interview with cops, Whitney said Decker had been “experiencing some mental health issues,” the detective said.

Decker, a former military member, had been homeless and living out of his car in recent months.

Whitney and Decker divorced in 2022 after seven years of marriage.

His ex-wife said the marriage ended amicably, but claimed in court documents that their divorce was brought on in part by his mental health issues, including a diagnosed borderline personality disorder and narcissism.

The parents decided that Decker would have custody of the girls every other weekend according to their parenting plan.

However, Whitney filed in September to request that the girls not be allowed to stay overnight with Decker after he became homeless.
