Borussia Dortmund chief, Sebastian Kehl has given reason Chelsea failed to sign their player, Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea tried to sign Gittens on Tuesday’s final day of the first 2025 summer transfer window.
However, the Premier League west London club failed to bring the 20-year-old star to Stamford Bridge as the player stayed at the Bundesliga club.
As a result, Dortmund then included Gittens in their FIFA Club World Cup squad.
But according to Kehl, Gittens’ move to Chelsea didn’t materialize because of a difference in opinion of the player’s value by both clubs.
“In the end, we didn’t come to an agreement on Jamie [Gittens] because we’ve different ideas about the player’s current value,”; Kehl told reporters.
“But the talks were very, very respectful. We’ve been in very good dialogue with Chelsea for many years.
“And yet we’ve a different point of view and we’re happy that Jamie will now be part of our team at the Club World Cup and are delighted that he’s staying,”; he said.
