Werder Bremen are in talks to sign Victor Boniface on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, DAILY POST reports.

According to Sky Sports reporter, Florian Plettenberg, Werder Bremen have already established contact with Leverkusen to get the deal done.

Boniface was on the verge of sealing a move to AC Milan last week but the Rooseneri pulled out of the deal citing concerns over his fitness.

The striker returned to training last week but was left out of Leverkusen’s matchday squad for last weekend’s 3-3 draw with Bremen.

Bremen are in need of more firepower upfront after their disappointing start to the new season.

They are yet to record a win in three games across all competitions this term.
