Transfer: Isak returns to Newcastle as Man Utd suffer Guerra blow

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has returned to Newcastle after spending some time in Spain training on his own, The Sun UK reports.

The Sweden international is expected to resume training with Newcastle next week, unless Liverpool can agree a fee with Eddie Howe’s side for his services.

Recall that Liverpool had a £110m plus add-ons bid rejected by Newcastle for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Isak has already made his intention clear that he wants to join the Reds this summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, in another development, Manchester United target Javi Guerra is now closing in on a new long-term contract at Valencia, despite turning down fresh terms earlier.

Valencia are ready to tie Guerra down until 2029 and triple his wages.

A new contract would all but end Man United’s hopes of landing the 21-year-old midfielder this summer transfer window.
