Barcelona, on Monday, announced that defender Andrés Cuenca has joined Sporting Gijón on loan for the remainder of the season.
Cuenca had extended his contract with Barcelona for a further season before he left for Sporting Gijón
The 19-year-old product of Sevilla FC’s youth academy made his debut for Barcelona’s first team on October 1, 2024, in a UEFA Champions League match against Young Boys.
In a separate announcement, Barcelona also revealed they have secured a loan deal for defender Patricio Pacifico from Defensor Sporting Club until the end of this season.
This agreement includes an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the loan period.
Pacifico, a versatile talent capable of playing both full-back and centre-back positions, will join Barça Atlètic for the second half of the season.
