Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Mamadou Sarr from French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg.

Sarr signed a contract with the Premier League west London club that will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

The 19-year-old was a regular player for Strasbourg during the 2024/2025 season.

The defender also played a key role in the French side qualifying for European football next season as he made 28 appearances in all competitions for the team.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Manchester City confirmed that their goalkeeper, Scott Carson, will leave Pep Guardiola’s side when his contract expires this summer.

The 39-year-old has been at City since 2019, acting as a valued part of the goalkeeping unit under manager Guardiola.

He initially arrived on loan at Etihad before completing a free transfer in the summer of 2021.

He made his debut for City in their victory against Newcastle United in May 2021 before a second appearance in the Champions League round of 16 second leg with Sporting CP in 2021/22.
