Bayern Munich boss, Thomas Tuchel, has given his verdict on winger Sadio Mane’s imminent departure from the Bundesliga Champions.
Mane is all set to leave Bayern Munich to join Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
The Senegal international only joined Bayern from Liverpool last year.
He did not flourish in his debut season at Bayern, scoring just 12 goals in 38 games.
Speaking to the media ahead of Bayern’s pre-season tie with Liverpool on Wednesday, Tuchel admitted that neither he nor Mane were pleased with the way the player’s time in Germany has come to an end, adding it was the best situation for both parties.
“We had a big hug,” Tuchel said. “We agreed that we don’t like what is happening now but that it is the best in this situation.
“I totally understand that he feels hurt. I also don’t feel happy. We did not bring it to its full potential, which is my responsibility.”
