Trainers Withdraw Horses from York Races Amid Sudden Weather Changes and Going Concerns

SEVERAL trainers have pulled their horses from day two of York’s Ebor festival.

It comes after overnight rain forced a going change to the entire course.

Some 11 horses have been deemed non-runners on Ladies Day – with ten of them due to the ground.

Among the big names pulled was hugely promising Juddmonte filly Livenka, who has been scrubbed from the opening race, the Lowther, due off at 1.50pm.

The track is now officially good to soft all over after receiving 17.8mm of rain since Sunday.

Today’s unsettled forecast suggests there could be more showers to come, with the track currently in the middle of a yellow weather warning.

That warning expires at 1pm but rain is expected to fall right throughout the day.
