SIX people have been killed and 15 injured after a freight train smashed into a bus at a busy tourist station running to Bangkok airport.

The cargo train collided with vehicles on a congested level-crossing below the Makkasan station.

Authorities said the tragic crash occurred on the rail line intersecting the busy Asok-Din Daeng Road below.
