A WIFE is receiving backlash after posting the ten things she always does to keep her husband happy.

The TikToker, who is a stay-at-home wife, said she “worships” the ground her husband walks on, and she has the list of chores to prove it.

The wife, who goes by the username @Cookingwithhx , posted a ten-slide video on TikTok, writing, “10 things I do as a stay-at-home wife.”

“I’m a very big believer that if your man provides and protects you, look after him as if he was God,” she captioned the video.

The influencer hopped on the trend of being a “tradwife,” which refers to a woman who adheres to the stereotypical role of a stay-at-home wife while her husband works.

The wife said she starts her day off at 7 am, making sure the house is spotless.

She said to make sure that she likes to make sure her husband’s uniform is ready, and then likes to make sure that she looks presentable.

“After I’ve cleaned the house, I will make myself presentable,” she wrote.

“Lashes, hair, and just get dressed for the day.”

Before and after her husband goes to work, the doting wife said she preps him a cup of coffee.

“Lots of kisses and cuddles in the morning because how you wake up affects your whole day and whole mood.”

When her husband comes home, she said she likes to make sure he has a “good home-cooked meal.”

The doting wife said that she likes to make sure that he has a meal even when she’s ill.

“I feel bad when I don’t feed my man,” she wrote.

“Tell him I love him 100000x a day.”

In addition to the cooking and cleaning, she said that she irons clothes every three days.

What is a trad wife?

A trad wife (short for traditional wife) is a woman who chooses to take on an ultra traditional role in marriage, meaning she makes dinner and looks pretty whilst her husband goes to work.

The trend takes inspiration from the idea of a 1950s housewife.

Many ‘trad wives’ choose to dress in the style of clothing popular in this period (think floral dresses and frumpy cardigans).

Additionally, the values considered important to trad wives are similar to strict Christian values.

Trad wives believed they were not forced into this way of life, and that it was their purpose to be homemakers.

The trend, which has garnered attention on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, glamorises a time gone by with little acknowledgement of the economic challenges facing families and mothers today.

She said she also makes sure to iron the bedsheets.

“I hate a creased bed,” she wrote.

“I make my house a loving home with peace and happiness, a good meal, and real love and affection.”

The controversial rules she sets for herself have sparked outrage in the comments.

“Both me and my man work and everything is 50/50 from money to housework and he still spoils me rotten,” one commenter wrote.

“Thank God, I couldn’t live that life but everyone to their own.”

Others joked, saying that she’s acting more as a mom than a wife.

“Aww you sound like a great mum, hope your son appreciates you.”

Another urged the wife to be “educated.”

“You’re partners and equals. You are not his mother, you do all this for him and yes he provides, but what else does he do outside of this? Stay educated and skilled, you need to be able to fall back on yourself.”
