TOWIE star Danielle Armstrong has revealed that her daughter was recently rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

Orla, 6, has undergone full ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgery for a health condition she had been suffering from.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Danielle shared a photo of her and her cuddled up in bed.

Alongside the snap, which saw Orla with a cannula in her arm, the reality star said: “My brave little girl has been through a lot lately.

“I’ll be sharing Orla’s struggle for years of ‘Glue Ear’ and how it’s resulted into having full ENT surgery this week.

“Grommets in / adenoids removed and tonsils out,” she explained.

“She is recovering well, lots of mummy cuddles,” Danielle concluded.

Glue ear is when there is fluid in the middle of the ear when it should just be air.

According to the NHS, this condition can cause temporary hearing loss, but usually clears up in around three months.

A grommet is a small tube that’s placed in the child’s ear during surgery.

It is used to drain fluid away and keeps the eardrum open.

They should fall out naturally within 6 to 12 months as the child’s ear gets better.

Danielle welcomed baby Orla Mae Edney in May 2020, with her now-husband Tom Edney.
