THOUSANDS of Tottenham supporters took to the streets to back their team ahead of Sunday’s six-pointer against Nottingham Forest.

The show of support had been organised by numerous fan groups as a way to give their team an extra boost before the crunch clash.

It was endorsed by many of the players, who shared the call-to-arms for the mass gathering on their social channels in the days leading up to the game.

It prompted an estimated 10,000 to situate themselves on the Tottenham High Road outside the stadium as they waited for the team buses to arrive.

Songs of ‘Tottenham until I die’ and ‘When the Spurs go marching in’ were belted out in the blazing sunshine.

While the name of former boss – whom many fans want to return in the summer – was chanted by supporters standing next to the mural.

White and blue flares were let off along with balloons in scenes reminiscent of May’s parade to celebrate last season’s triumph.

First-team stars including and Xavi Simons had shared this message on their social media accounts over the last few days: “ means everything to us. It always has.

“Generations of us. Families. Friends. Strangers. Brought together by the same badge, the same community, the same pride. With one job: to support our team.

“Time for reflection comes later. Right now we’re in the run-in, with big games ahead.

“So, to our team, our players, our coaching staff, our team behind the team, our club: we’re not going anywhere. We are with you.

“From the atmosphere in the stands, the belief in the streets, to the roar the players walk out into.

Spurs are one point above the relegation zone – the same amount as opponents Forest, who are below them in the table on goal difference – with eight games to play.
