The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that President Bola Tinubu's allocation of N5.41 trillion for security in the 2026 Appropriation Bill will significantly undermine the criminal and terrorist networks that threaten Nigeria's unity.

Seye Oladejo, the party's spokesperson in the state, remarked that this intentional and unprecedented commitment once again highlights a government that is aware of Nigeria's current realities and is firmly dedicated to securing its future.

In a statement signed by Oladejo, he indicated that Tinubu has given security, the primary responsibility of government, the attention it rightfully deserves.

According to Oladejo, “Beyond the intent, the objectives of the 2026 Budget are practical and measurable:

“To effectively weaken criminal and terrorist networks that jeopardize national unity and economic activity.

“To restore investor confidence, recognizing that capital flows to stable and secure environments.

“To deepen economic reforms, ensuring that the achievements in fiscal discipline are not compromised by insecurity.

“To reinforce social stability, enabling citizens to pursue their livelihoods without fear.”

Oladejo stated that the primary aim of the 2026 budget is clearly to solidify national security achievements, safeguard lives and property, and create a stable environment for economic recovery and sustainable growth.

“The President’s proposal acknowledges that no substantial development can occur in the absence of peace and safety.

“By allocating N5.41 trillion to security, the Tinubu administration is focusing on enhancing the capabilities of the Armed Forces and security agencies; improving intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration; modernizing equipment and operational logistics; as well as ensuring the welfare and motivation of personnel who risk their lives daily,” he added.
